Job summary

Doncasters is seeking a Machinist in Groton to machine and finish casting parts using drills, saws, grinders and vertical mills. You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and ensure parts meet exact specs while developing new setups and troubleshooting machinery to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints and follow technical instructions.
  • Previous experience working as a lathe machinist or drilling machinist.

Responsibilities

  • Machining and finishing casting parts using drills, saws, grinders, and vertical milling machines.
  • Set up and operate machinery from blueprints/work instructions to meet exact specifications.
  • Develop setups, procedures and techniques for new jobs and debug existing machinery to improve efficiency.

The Role

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machining and finishing casting parts using drills, saws, grinders, and vertical milling machines. You'll work from blueprints and work instructions to set up and operate machinery, ensuring that each part meets exact specifications. You'll also be involved in developing setups, procedures, and techniques for new jobs and debugging existing machinery to enhance efficiency.
