Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Machining Tech IV, Grinder for first shift. You will set up and operate multiple spindle automatic screw machines, making minor process adjustments as required to meet tolerances.

Responsibilities include complete machine setup, tool selection and adjustment, interpretation of layouts, and quality checks. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and training support for less experienced operators.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret manufacturers drawings and part prints.
• Ability to perform basic math and dimensional calculations.
• Work to tight tolerances and inspect parts with basic tools.
• Capable of interpreting and following written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up automatic screw machines for production runs.
• Select and adjust cutting tools, cycles, speeds, feeds and stops.
• Position gears/cams per screw machine layouts and verify dimensions.
• Operate machines to perform turning, drilling, reaming, facing, tapping and threading.
• Ensure parts meet tolerances; troubleshoot tool/machine issues.
• Sharpen tooling and apply Machinist measuring tools knowledge.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and assist training of operators.
