Job summary

Van-Am Tool & Engineering LLC in Missouri seeks an experienced Machine Shop/Tool Room Supervisor to oversee daily operations in an AS9100-certified environment. You will lead machinists, drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity, and develop staff while ensuring parts meet customer and regulatory requirements.

You will supervise CNC and manual machining, coordinate across departments, monitor KPIs, and partner with Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Production leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machining experience with prior leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or AS9100-certified environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, blueprint reading, GD&T, ERP systems, and production planning.
• Proven ability to coach employees, solve problems, manage priorities, and improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop machinists to achieve safety, quality, delivery and productivity objectives.
• Coordinate production schedules, staffing, machine utilization, and workflow.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer specs, engineering drawings, GD&T, and internal procedures.
• Monitor KPIs such as productivity, scrap, rework, downtime, and on-time delivery.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Production leadership to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Champion Lean and continuous improvement while maintaining a safe, organized workplace.
