Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a capable leader to manage the machine shop and a team responsible for high-precision aerospace components. You will drive performance, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement while ensuring safety and quality across production lines.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, coaching, and collaboration with design for manufacturing to estimate job plans. A strong customer focus and KT of GD&T are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a machining environment is required.
• 7+ years machining aerospace components preferred.
• Root cause and corrective action experience required.
• Familiar with KPI metrics and process improvement.
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 and blue print reading.
• Strong customer focus and communication skills.
• Must meet U.S. citizenship/visa requirements for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own machine shop operations and staff performance.
• Conduct performance reviews and training.
• Set work station assignments and overtime coverage.
• Maintain machine shop schedule and ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide escalation support for HR issues and timekeeping.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Maintain calibration and safety programs.
• Support design for manufacturing and provide job estimates.
• Hire and mentor team members for growth.
• Ensure startup readiness and safe production.
