Job summary

Spirit Defense, a Boeing Company, invites motivated engineering students to join its 2027 internship program in Wichita, KS. You will work hands-on with mentors on real-world aerospace challenges in defense and space projects.

You will contribute to liaison engineering tasks, learn manufacturing and engineering processes, and build a professional network. Relocation assistance is available; U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027.
• Must be able to obtain U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Liaison Engineering interns support aerospace production and program execution by collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues affecting defense and space products.
• Investigate production nonconformances and support engineering dispositions or repair solutions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and design requirements to resolve shop-floor technical issues.
• Coordinate with design, structural analysis, manufacturing, quality, and program teams on production solutions.
• Support root-cause investigations, corrective actions, technical documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
