Job description

Job Summary

Performs laboratory tests to determine mechanical and physical characteristics of rubber materials for quality control, process control, or product development.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Sets up and operates laboratory equipment such as tensile testing machines, hardness testers, specific gravity testers, MDR, ovens, and other equipment.
  2. Performs material testing on organics, rubbers, and other products for physical and mechanical properties including specific gravity, hardness, tensile strength, elongation, viscosity, melting or flash point, etc.
  3. Reports test results according to materials testing specifications and generates test reports.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned by lab lead and manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a lab technician in aerospace.
  • Knowledge of industrial materials specifications.
  • Ability to operate lab equipment including tensile testing machines (Instron, Alpha, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
