Grossing Technician - Laboratory - Per Diem 8 Hour Days

Position Overview

The Grossing Technician performs high-complexity testing and handles duties related to the gross examination of noncomplex surgical tissue specimens for histologic examination.

Minimum Education

An earned associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent education/training including at least 60 semester hours. This must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses, including chemistry and biology.

Minimum Experience and Skills

• Typing speed of 60 wpm, familiarity with computers and word processing software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: 1 year experience working in a pathology laboratory.
• Preferred: 1 year of secretarial/administrative assistant experience.
• Preferred: 1 year experience grossing small and large surgical specimens.

Compensation

The hourly rate range is $29.00 - $45.00, based on various factors including experience and education.
