Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Wichita, KS, is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to analyze and optimize production workflows, establish standard work, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

The role focuses on capacity planning, line balancing, and efficiency improvements across production facilities. The ideal candidate will hold an ABET-accredited engineering degree, have 5+ years in industrial engineering, and demonstrate strong communication and project leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering.
• Knowledge of IE Tools used in production including capacity analysis, theory of constraints, waste elimination, production improvements.
• Experience leading projects and project teams with a continuous improvement focus

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow.
• May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
• Develops and provides time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.
• Utilizes analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization as well as line balancing.
• Performs trend analysis of shop performance measures to identify opportunities for improvements.
