Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic for a 12-month assignment in El Segundo, CA. This role involves hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems within a large aerospace facility.

Qualified candidates will have 4+ years in HVAC, EPA 608 certification, a California driver’s license, and basic HVAC tools. The position offers a competitive pay rate and a 9/80 schedule, with ITAR/EAR compliance considerations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of experience with HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
• Universal EPA Section 608 Certification.
• Active California Driver's License.
• Ownership of basic HVAC tools.
• Experience in maintenance trades including machine repair, machine controls, and electrical maintenance.
• Experience in Central Plant environments.
• Ability to work a 9/80 schedule.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems, heaters, boilers, air compressors, air dryers, and chillers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts, and equipment specs.
• Install, modify, rebuild, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot building automation systems including pneumatic and DDC controls.
• Complete maintenance documentation and service reports with accuracy.
