Job summary

Howmet Aerospace's Howmet Fastening Systems in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Machining Tech III- Crimper, 1st Shift. The role involves setting up and operating various grinding equipment, balancing workloads, and ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.

Responsibilities include planning setups, checking dimensions, mounting wheels and fixtures, making minor machine adjustments, and training others as needed. Overtime and physical demands apply; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Able to read/interpret part drawings, use quality tools (calipers, mics, comparators).
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Plan the set-up and sequence of operations on grinding work by study of orders, prints, drawings.
• Check dimensions, finish, material and tolerances to hold specs.
• Set up grinders: wheels, fixtures, attachments; align and secure parts.
• Make machine adjustments, dress and true wheels as needed.
• Operate grinders to produce production and experimental parts.
• Inspect parts with precision tools for finish and dimension.
• Troubleshoot parts and machine problems.
• May set up machines for others or train staff.
