Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Flight Inspector Level 1 or 2 in the United States to perform dimensional inspections and ensure conformance to drawings and specs. The role requires familiarity with GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision hand tools, including micrometers and surface plates.

The inspector will inspect purchased parts, verify identities and dimensions, and maintain inspection records, making pass/fail decisions for government and commercial programs. Travel is involved as noted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and related experience (Level 1).
• Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint readings.
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance machined components.
• Proficiency with precision hand tools and surface plate setup.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections per work order and drawings.
• Use micrometers, gauges, calipers, and surface plate setups.
• Verify specifications against purchase orders and blueprints.
• Make pass/fail decisions and maintain inspection records.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure conformity to standards.
