Job summary

EVONA seeks a Flight Assurance Engineer to independently drive mechanisms flight assurance across design, manufacturing, assembly, testing and integration. You will own assurance plans, perform inspections, and sign off on critical tests to ensure safety and reliability of flight hardware.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in aerospace assurance, nonconformance management, and experience with qualification testing of aerospace hardware.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Flight Assurance, Mission Assurance, Product Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Reliability Engineering.
  • Direct experience working with aerospace or flight hardware.
  • Experience managing or supporting nonconformances, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and hardware dispositions.
  • Experience supporting or witnessing qualification and acceptance testing of aerospace hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute flight assurance plans, methods, and processes throughout the full mechanism's development and production lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, assembly, test, and integration.
  • Conduct independent inspections at defined hold points during the assembly, testing, and integration of complex flight mechanisms.
  • Define, maintain, and enforce witness and inspection points throughout the mechanisms product lifecycle.
  • Review and approve assembly work instructions and test procedures before execution.
  • Support qualification and verification activities, including Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, shock, and life testing.
  • Witness testing and provide assurance sign-off following successful completion.
  • Execute hardware buyoff at assembly, test, and integration stages using objective evidence to confirm requirements have been met.
  • Own and maintain the nonconformance register, from initial identification through root cause investigation, corrective action, and verification.
  • Lead root cause investigations for mechanical and electromechanical hardware anomalies occurring during design, manufacturing, assembly, or testing.
  • Prepare and maintain assurance documentation, including assurance plans, risk mitigation strategies, nonconformance dispositions, waivers, deviations, and compliance reports.
  • Support supplier and vendor surveillance for flight-critical mechanism hardware, including reviewing build records and acceptance test data.
  • Monitor hardware and production data to identify recurring issues, trends, and potential reliability risks.
  • Participate in anomaly and failure reviews and track corrective actions through verified closure.
  • Maintain lessons learned and ensure corrective actions are physically implemented and verified on subsequent hardware.
  • Independently represent Flight Assurance during PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR, manufacturing, integration, and test activities.
