Job summary

Hughes Brothers Aircrafters Inc is seeking a Customer Service Estimator to convert aerospace RFQs into complete, competitive quotes for metal forming and CNC machining. You will review drawings, specifications, and contracts to build accurate labor, material, and flow estimates.

This hands-on role links customers with engineering, production, and quality, ensuring quotes reflect real manufacturing paths and delivery constraints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, CNC machining, sheet metal forming or related manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with aerospace parts and assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications and GD&T.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, AS9102) and material certifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, purchase orders and contract terms, including flow-down clauses and quality requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications and GD&T to define scope.
• Develop manufacturing routing for metal forming, CNC machining, fabrication and assembly.
• Estimate setup/run times, labor hours, material, tooling, fixturing, and external processing.
• Build complete cost estimates and deliver quotes on time.
• Maintain estimating records and compare actual performance to improve accuracy.
