Job summary

Hughes Brothers Aircrafters Inc in California is seeking a Customer Service Estimator to convert aerospace RFQs into accurate, competitive quotes for metal forming and CNC machining. You will review drawings, specifications and statements of work to define the work flow, labor and material estimates.

This hands-on role links customers, engineering, production and quality to ensure every quote reflects real requirements and a realistic path to delivery, while maintaining records and supporting

Qualifications

• 5+ years in metal fabrication or related manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on estimating experience for aerospace parts.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, GD&T and specifications.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, AS9102, material certifications).
• Strong math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, purchase orders and contract terms.
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications and GD&T to define scope.
• Identify required processes, inspections and deliverables from SOWs.
• Develop manufacturing work flow for metal forming and CNC machining.
• Estimate setup/run times, labor, material, tooling, fixturing and outside processing.
• Build complete cost estimates and deliver quotes on time.
• Identify risks and ambiguities in customer documents and seek clarifications.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, purchasing and quality to confirm manufacturability and lead times.
• Evaluate supplier quotes for materials and outside services.
• Serve as customer contact for quote status and pricing questions.
• Maintain estimating records and improve future accuracy.
• Support contract review and order entry so quotes carry into production.
