Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineering leader to guide the design, fabrication and testing of combustion device components for advanced aerospace programs. You will mentor engineers, set strategic directions, and drive process improvements across the product life cycle to meet customer needs.

You will oversee hiring, performance management, training, and career development while collaborating with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (Aerospace/Mechanical/Chemical/Physics preferred).
• 5+ years aerospace or related experience; leadership of engineers in fast-paced settings.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, manufacturing, supply chain, and materials processing.
• Knowledge of GD&T and experience with CAD tools.
• Experience leading Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and understanding production processes.
• Data analysis/data processing familiarity; proven leadership with trust and professional relationships.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
• U.S. citizen or eligible status (permanent resident or refugee/asylum status).

Responsibilities

• Set technical and product support directions and develop team members.
• Support design, fabrication, and improvement of combustion device components.
• Lead process improvement across all phases of the component life cycle for on-rate delivery.
• Oversee hiring, performance management, training, and career development.
• Improve technical processes, requirements and tooling in engine test planning and development.
• Provide day-to-day direction for component design, manufacturing and test support.
• Perform data reviews and test readiness reviews; support anomaly investigations and corrective actions.
