Job summary

CACI is seeking an Aerospace Engineering Intern to join our Summer 2027 program. You will assist in airframe design, integration, testing, and evaluation of unmanned aerial systems, collaborating closely with experienced engineers in a fast-paced prototyping environment where concepts move from design to flight.

You will gain exposure to airframe development, performance analysis, and flight test activities while developing hands-on CAD skills and understanding of structural analyses.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• Foundational understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structures.
• Experience with 3D CAD software.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in a hands on lab and flight test environment.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in airframe design, modification, and integration activities.
• Support development of 3D models, drawings, and configuration updates.
• Participate in structural assessments and basic performance analysis.
• Assist with system integration of propulsion, control, and payload components.
• Support ground testing, fit checks, and pre-flight preparation.
• Collect and organize test data during ground and flight events.
• Assist in development of technical documentation and test reports.
• Support trouble shooting and root cause analysis of airframe or performance issues.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems teams during integration efforts.
