Mercor seeks an Aerodynamics Writer for a remote contract role. You will craft original aerodynamic problems grounded in real industry scenarios and provide expert-level solutions, validating difficulty against frontier language models.

The role focuses on strengthening AI model outputs in aerodynamics and requires independent, deadline-driven work. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering (aerodynamics/thermofluids) with 5+ years of external aerodynamics/CFD

Qualifications

• PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering with a specialization in aerodynamics or thermofluids.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in external aerodynamics, CFD, wind tunnel testing, propulsion or vehicle aerodynamics.

Position: Aerodynamics Writer - Engineering

FRQ Type: Contract

Compensation: $85/hour

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Author original, free-response engineering problems grounded in real industry scenarios.
• Write complete expert-level solutions for each problem.
• Validate difficulty by running problems against three frontier language models until at least one fails.
• Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI-generated content in aerodynamics to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs .
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance .

Qualifications Must-Have

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a thermofluids/aerodynamics specialization .
• 5+ years of hands-on professional/industry experience in external aerodynamics , CFD , wind tunnel testing, propulsion, or vehicle aerodynamics.

Preferred

• Candidates from well-known/blue-chip employers.
