Job summary

Element Materials Technology in Minneapolis seeks an EMI Test Technician/Associate EMI Test Engineer to perform EMI/EMC testing on aerospace components and log results. You will set up spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and EMI receivers, and document test data.

The role requires familiarity with EMI standards and instruments, plus hands-on troubleshooting with engineers and customers during testing. A physics/EE background or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, EE, or related field.
• Two-year electronics technical degree and relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with standard electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, power supplies, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Conduct EMI/EMC testing on aerospace components and systems.
• Set up and operate test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and EMI receivers.
• Perform shielding, conducted emissions, radiated emissions, and susceptibility tests.
• Maintain knowledge of EMI test standards, procedures, and instrumentation.
• Analyze test results, document findings, and prepare test reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot EMI-related issues.
• Interact with customers during testing and assist with troubleshooting and development modifications.
