Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal EMC/EMI Engineer to lead EMC/EMI strategy for advanced aerospace products in Rockford, IL. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify EMI challenges early and influence design decisions to ensure DO-160, MIL-STD-461/464/704 compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on EMC standards expertise, problem solving, and clear communication across teams, with opportunities to mentor others and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design and aerospace qualification testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive EMC/EMI strategy and qualification activities for programs.
• Translate high-level EMI/EMC requirements to specs for systems and circuits.
• Support design reviews to meet EMI/EMC performance and DO-160/MIL-STD targets.
• Create EMC control plans, test procedures, and analysis reports.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to grow EMC expertise across the team.
• Develop test methodologies and supervise EMC setup and integration.
