Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer with hands-on electronics manufacturing experience to drive supplier quality across PCBA and related assemblies. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance and frequent supplier visits.

The candidate will lead quality improvement initiatives, participate in PPAP/FAI, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturability and reliability of aerospace-grade electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field.
• Experience in supplier quality engineering, supplier quality assurance, manufacturing quality, or electronics quality engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Experience with PCBAs, SMT manufacturing, cable/harness assemblies, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of AS9100D, ISO 9001, supplier quality systems, nonconformance management, and CAPA processes.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Supplier Quality Engineer supporting electronics manufacturing and related suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier quality performance and lead improvement initiatives.
• Perform hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, and verification of PCBA and electronic assemblies.
• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, compliance reviews, and supplier development.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and CAPA methods.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, prototypes, and new product introductions.
• Review and manage FAI packages, inspection reports, test results, control plans, and AS9100 documentation.
• Travel to supplier locations to conduct audits and development activities.
