Nidec Motion and Drives seeks an Electromagnetic Design Engineer to advance electric propulsion systems for battery-powered aircraft. You will design, analyze, and validate EM motors and their power electronics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet aerospace requirements.

The role emphasizes rigorous design verification, customer interaction, and documentation, with leadership responsibilities for technicians and contractors in an industry aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electric motors and drives.
• Experience with electromagnetic design software: MotorCAD, Ansys Maxwell, Altair Flux, SPEED or JMAG.

Responsabilités

• Apply electromagnetic design concepts to motor drive systems and generate designs per specifications.
• Use MotorCAD, Ansys Maxwell, Altair Flux, SPEED and/or JMAG for analysis and reports.
• Coordinate with customers to translate requirements into product designs and verifications.
• Develop, maintain, and upgrade tests for design verification and validation of electromechanical products.
• Provide guidance and leadership to technicians and contract personnel.
