Job summary

General Atomics is seeking an Electrical Engineer (EE) to join the EWIS team in Rancho Bernardo. The role focuses on electrical harness design for aerospace applications with mechanical integration support, reporting to the EWIS Design Team Manager.

The engineer will contribute to high-power electromagnetic systems and space systems across R&D initiatives. The candidate will collaborate with systems, electrical, RF, and mechanical engineers, participate in design reviews, and drive technical

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline.
Progressive engineering experience with DoD/space programs, aerospace harnesses, and RF cabling is preferred.
Experience with MIL/NASA/ANSI/NEMA standards for space applications is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Design and integrate electrical cables and harnesses for aerospace and satellite systems.
Prepare design packages and support design reviews with schematics and harness drawings.
Coordinate electrical interconnects and document grounding, shield, and power distributions.
Ensure harness designs meet military, NASA, and industry standards across project phases.
Lead or contribute to cross-functional hardware development for space systems.
