Job summary

Amca is seeking an Electrical Design Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in El Segundo, CA. You will work with our electrical team to move aerospace hardware from concept to flight qualification, owning a scoped project with a mentor and access to build and test engineers.

Interns design, build, and debug real hardware with rigorous review standards, and you will have a bench-ready project before you graduate.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Returning to school in Fall 2027, or graduating in Spring 2027 and interested in a full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and prototyping of new electrical hardware for flight hardware.
• Support schematic capture, analysis, component selection, de-rating, and PCBA layout.
• Build and bring up early revision hardware and iterate based on bench feedback.
• Run bench tests and functional/environmental tests on built hardware.
• Debug failures to root cause and apply fixes to the design.
