Job summary

Delta is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support aircraft cabin electrical design, testing, certification, and substantiation activities. The engineer will develop test documentation, support aircraft certification requirements, coordinate with suppliers and regulatory stakeholders, and provide engineering support during flight testing and laboratory activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 4–7 years of overall engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft engineering processes and substantiation techniques for Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical test plans, checklists, and inspection plans.
  • Develop substantiation reports and test plans/reports supporting aircraft cabin safety.
  • Prepare presentations and technical materials for engineering and project meetings.
  • Manage small STC/PMA projects related to electrical requirements and certification deliverables.
  • Coordinate supplier data deliverables and responses to technical inquiries, significant issues, and airworthiness concerns.
  • Coordinate with Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs), as applicable.
  • Identify major design changes that may impact aircraft electrical systems.
  • Support relationships and coordination with certification and regulatory agencies.
  • Interface with airline customers during troubleshooting activities at flight-test locations, test laboratories, and engineering jigs.
  • Support electrical design and substantiation activities associated with aircraft interiors.
