Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Early Career Electrical Component Engineer to support a major aerospace and defense client. This on-site role in Berkeley, MO focuses on obsolescence management within a Component Engineering team and requires a secret clearance.

The position develops long-term expertise in obsolescence forecasting, DMSMS, and part substitution, collaborating with experienced engineers and government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical and electronic components.
• Ability to research datasheets and supplier documentation for alternatives.
• Understanding of obsolescence concepts and DMSMS processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate components and identify alternate replacements for obsolete parts.
• Forecast and monitor obsolescence using surveillance tools and surveys.
• Monitor GIDEP alerts and report status to teams and customers.
• Develop mitigation options and perform business case analyses.
• Prepare technical material on DMSMS issues for stakeholders.
• Support obsolescence working groups with internal and external partners.
• Assist in IPTs with obsolescence mitigation activities and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and SME teams across the enterprise.
• Recommend new or alternate components for development and legacy systems.
• Assist with implementing DoD Parts Management Program.
