Job summary

Collins Aerospace in the United States is seeking an engineer to design, research, analyze, and document processes for proposals, new product development and production support with a focus on metallic designs.

Responsibilities include performing thermal and structural analyses using ANSYS, creating basic drawings, overseeing testing, and aiding in development from concept to detail. A STEM degree and 2+ years of experience are required; ANSYS and Teamcenter are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Experience with metallic design and structural analysis preferred.
  • PLM software (Teamcenter) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, research, analysis, engineering documentation and process improvement for proposals, new product development and production support.
  • Focus on metallic designs.
  • Perform thermal and structural analyses of metallic or composite designs utilizing ANSYS or other analysis methods, creating basic drawings, conducting or overseeing testing, and assisting in development and analysis of projects from concept to detail designs.
  • Perform engineering design, analysis, and testing based on customer, industry, standard processes, and internal specifications.
  • Become familiar with all Design Engineering standards and procedures, development programs and platforms.
  • Support programs with introduction of composite specific system analysis with developed or to be developed in-house software, ANSYS/Abaqus and potentially other publicly available software.
