Job summary

Jobtailor in Bentonville, Arkansas, seeks an experienced aerospace design engineer to develop components, sub-assemblies and systems for general aviation aircraft and to create, issue and revise certification programs, test plans and reports.

Collaborate with the FAA ACO on major change approvals, maintain the change register, conduct design audits, and lead teams while mentoring junior engineers. Proficiency in SolidWorks and strong technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in aerospace design.
• Strong technical writing abilities.
• Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 and interfacing with the FAA.

Requirements

• Must have experience in either Aerospace, Aviation, or Aeronautics
• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in aerospace design.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Ability to follow a structured design and certification process.
• Strong technical writing abilities.
• Composite design and fabrication experience.
• Previous work experience with a general aviation OEM.
• Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 and interfacing with the FAA.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
• Knowledge of standard aviation fasteners and AN hardware.
• Previous experience as a private or professional pilot.
