Job summary

Molex in Georgetown, Texas is seeking a Buyer to support our growing manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for purchasing materials, components, supplies, and services needed to support production and ensure material availability.

You will partner with suppliers and internal teams to balance cost, quality, and delivery, manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues to keep production on track while complying with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related function.
• Experience working with suppliers and managing purchase orders.
• Experience working in an ERP or MRP system.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day purchasing activities for materials, components, supplies, equipment, and services.
• Create and manage purchase orders based on production requirements and material needs.
• Monitor open purchase orders and work directly with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Review supplier quotes and make purchasing recommendations based on cost, quality, lead time, and delivery.
• Communicate changes in demand, delivery schedules, and priorities to suppliers.
• Identify and escape potential material shortages or supplier issues that could impact production.
• Resolve receiving, invoicing, quality, pricing, and delivery discrepancies in partnership with suppliers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information, supplier records, pricing, lead times, and purchase order documentation.
• Support supplier performance and continuous improvement activities.
• Partner with planning, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and other functions to support production requirements.
• Ensure purchasing activities and documentation comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
