Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an Operations leader for its Salt Lake City area to run daily composite manufacturing. You will guide technicians, manage workflow, and drive continuous improvement to meet aerospace quality and schedule requirements.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in manufacturing or composites along with 4+ years in a similar role; travel 10–25% is expected. U.S. person status required; generous benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Higher level supervision or leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with composite fabrication equipment and manufacturing machinery.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day production operations, assigning work and coordinating resources.
• Ensures availability of materials and equipment to meet production goals.
• Trains and develops technicians, onboarding and cross-training.
• Evaluates performance and provides constructive feedback.
• Addresses employee issues and supports staffing decisions.
• Ensures safe operation of equipment and trainings on safety procedures.
• Reviews timecards, overtime, and PTO requests.
• Identifies inefficiencies and supports continuous improvement.
• Monitors KPIs and prepares progress reports.
• Ensures compliance with policies and safety guidelines.
