Job summary

Airbus Helicopters Canada Ltd. is seeking entry-level Composite Layup Technicians to fabricate aerospace parts using prepreg or wet layup processes in Fort Erie, Ontario. You will follow Manufacturing Instruction Documents and use a range of small hand tools to mould and finish composite components.

The role emphasizes adherence to quality standards, safety, and diligent documentation. Strong eye/hand coordination and teamwork are essential for success in our production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the operations processes.
• Knowledge of small hand tools such as knives, hammers, wrenches, putty knives, heat guns, scissors, drills, measuring tape, etc.
• Depth of knowledge of technical field.
• Knowledge of quality requirements and how to effectively meet quality standards.
• Teamwork focus.
• Attention to detail.
• Follow Manufacturing Instruction Documents and fill out all necessary paperwork.
• Be able to use measuring instruments (template, scale, lasers).
• Strong Communication Skills (Verbal & Written).
• Service Minded.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred.
• Organized Individual.
• Work independently under general supervision.
• Good eye/hand coordination.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate parts using composite materials – prepreg or wet layup processes.
• Strong knowledge of composite lay-up techniques.
• Perform moulding for composite parts using engineered resigns with the aid of small hand tools.
• Fabricate parts by using Manufacturing Instruction Documents (MIDs) and production orders as guides.
• Understanding of various production steps and processes.
• Measure materials using basic metric measuring equipment.
• Prepare parts for autoclave process through bagging techniques.
• Report to lead hand recommendations for process improvements and provide explanations and demonstrations as required.
• Foster health and safety in the workplace and knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Demonstrate standard work practices to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensure work areas and equipment are kept clean & neat (Workplace OK).
• Assist with work station set up.
• Uphold Airbus Values.
• Strive for continuous improvement in quality and performance.
