Job summary

ApTask in Huntsville, AL is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to design and modify programs for CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis machines, and VTLs used to manufacture precision aerospace components.

You will work with engineering and shop-floor teams to develop machining strategies, create setup sheets, design fixtures, provide DFM/DFMA feedback, and verify first-pass success on tight-tolerance hardware for human spaceflight missions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
• Experience with Siemens NX/Unigraphics.
• Vericut or equivalent verification software.
• CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis programming.
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
• Tooling & fixture design.
• Feed & speed calculations.
• Machining experience with Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CNC programs for CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis machines and VTLs.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and shop-floor teams to develop machining strategies.
• Create setup sheets and design fixtures.
• Provide DFM/DFMA feedback to improve manufacturability.
• Ensure first-pass success on tight-tolerance, high-value aerospace hardware.
