Job summary

TekPro is seeking a skilled CNC lathe machinist for the 2nd shift in Downers Grove, IL to fabricate aerospace components. You will read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and run 2–4 axis lathes with various controls. Expect tight tolerances and steady overtime in a clean, organized shop.

You will set up tooling, perform offsets, and tweak programs while inspecting parts with precision metrology. Independence on 2nd shift is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC lathe experience on setup and operation.
• Blueprint fluency and strong GD&T understanding.
• History of holding tight tolerances in production.
• Comfort with Fanuc or equivalent controls.
• Ability to work independently on 2nd shift (3:00 - 1:30AM).

Responsibilities

• Set up and run 2–4 axis CNC lathes for aerospace components.
• Read/interpret blueprints and GD&T to ensure conformance.
• Execute tool changes, offsets, and small program tweaks.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges; log results.
• Troubleshoot chip control, surface finish, and dimensional issues.
