Job summary

FERPA Precision Machine, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to support its aerospace and space manufacturing work.

This mission-critical role owns lathe programming, develops, tests and optimizes CNC programs to produce high-quality parts efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will take a part from print to production-ready programs, choose tooling and workholding, support prove-outs, and improve cycle times while troubleshooting complex issues.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of CNC lathe programming in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience with multi-axis turning centers, live tooling, Y-axis, C-axis and sub-spindles.
• Proficiency with Mastercam and G-code; ability to create setup documentation and production work instructions.
• Ability to read prints, GD&T, and tight-tolerance specifications.

Responsibilities

• Independently create, modify, and optimize CNC lathe programs using Mastercam for aerospace components.
• Interpret orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and machining requirements.
• Develop efficient turning sequences, toolpaths, setups, and operation plans for complex, tight-tolerance components.
• Collaborate with Quality and Production to ensure parts meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
