Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator for the Night Shift to setup and run aerospace components on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. You will perform daily maintenance, manage tool offsets, and ensure high-precision part production while following safety and paperwork requirements.

Responsibilities include operating two Mazak machines, maintaining clean work habits, and communicating process improvements to leadership.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• 5+ years experience preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with live tooling and Mazak machines.
• Able to stand for the majority of shift and work night hours.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate to produce high-precision aerospace components.
• Perform daily machine maintenance and keep workspace clean.
• Manage tools and enter offsets for tool wear; replace worn tools.
• Adhere to safety standards and industry procedures; complete paperwork (MOT, job sheets).
• Maintain correct part counts on MOT; hold tolerances of .0002" to .0005"; operate two machines regularly.
• Communicate issues and improvement ideas to supervision; report malfunctions.
