Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Burbank, CA is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist II or III (Lathe) to set up and operate CNC lathes, ensure part quality, and maintain documentation.

The role requires aerospace manufacturing experience, adherence to safety standards, and strong attention to detail. Overtime and weekend work may be required; second shift includes a 10% differential after training.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC Lathe machining experience, preferably aerospace.
• Experience on 4-5 axis CNC Lathe (Swiss, Okuma, Harding preferred).
• Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, height gauges and safety procedures.
• Understanding of cutting tool geometry and tooling coordination.
• Able to communicate clearly and document actions taken.
• HS diploma or equivalent; ITAR awareness may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe to produce machined parts.
• Validate material, maintain specifications, and troubleshoot tool wear.
• Listen for tool issues and adjust process; replace worn tools as needed.
• Measure finished parts using precision instruments and ensure GD&T conformance.
• Document actions across shifts and communicate necessary next steps.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
