Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Burbank, CA is seeking a Precision Grinder (CNC Centerless Grinding) to join the Machine Shop Team. The role focuses on operating precision grinding machines to produce parts per blueprints and specifications.

You will set up and adjust machine controls, inspect parts with gauges, select tooling, and study instructions to meet tolerances of ±0.001 to 0.00002 inch on ID and OD. Second shift offers a 10% differential; ITAR compliance and benefits highlighted.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in centerless grinding.
• Experience as a Precision Grinder in a fast-paced shop; Cincinnati centerless grinder (manual) preferred.
• Centerless and ID/OD grinding.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• US person eligibility for ITAR due to defense contracting.

Responsibilities

• Set and adjust machine controls per specs.
• Measure work pieces with precision tools.
• Select tooling based on production requirements.
• Study blueprints and orders for specs.
• Mount tools in chucks, spindles, or centers.
• Start-up switches to grind or cut per specs.
• Inspect finished parts with gauges or micrometers.
• Lift and position work pieces.
• Set up or tend grinding and related tools.
• Observe operations and adjust to fix problems.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
