Job summary

Magellan Aerospace, New York, is seeking an Aerospace CMM Operator to perform high-precision dimensional inspections of aerospace components using Coordinate Measuring Machines. The role supports quality assurance with accurate inspection data, traceability, and continuous improvement in a regulated environment.

The position offers an afternoon/evening shift (3:00 PM or 4:00 PM start; 11:00 PM or 12:00 AM end) with a salary range of $32.00 to $38.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience operating CMM equipment in aerospace/precision manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to apply it to complex aerospace parts.
• Experience interpreting detailed aerospace drawings and CAD data.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 FAI requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program CMM equipment to inspect aerospace components.
• Develop and optimize CMM programs using PC-DMIS.
• Interpret drawings, CAD data, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Perform First Article Inspection per AS9102.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to meet tolerances.
• Generate inspection reports with full traceability.
• Identify non-conformances and support root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Calibrate and maintain CMM equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Participate in audits including customer and regulatory audits.
