Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Bench Inspector in Portland, CT for an aerospace client. The role focuses on inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and engineering drawings.

You will apply GD&T, perform dimensional inspections, and document results while collaborating with production and quality teams to uphold strict quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of inspection experience in aerospace or similar manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to interpret operation sheets, purchase orders, specifications, and special process certifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, shop math proficiency, and attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate manufacturing methods and procedures for compliance with quality requirements.
• Solid verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to maintain complete and accurate inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect in-process and finished products through visual examinations and dimensional measurements to confirm compliance with specifications.
• Review purchase orders, operation sheets, blueprints, special process certifications, and other specifications to verify that parts and materials meet requirements.
• Perform complex dimensional layout inspections using operation sheets and engineering drawings.
• Apply GD&T principles to evaluate part conformity.
• Complete Inspection Method Sheets and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Verify special process certifications against applicable part specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspections and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
• Identify and document nonconforming materials or components and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address inspection issues and maintain product quality.
