Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group in Portland, CT is seeking a Quality Control Bench Inspector for a client in the aerospace sector. You will inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering specifications and meticulously document results.

Responsibilities include applying GD&T, performing dimensional inspections, layout work, FAIs, and maintaining inspection records.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of inspection experience in aerospace or similar manufacturing.
• Strong GD&T knowledge, blueprint interpretation and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to read operation sheets, POs, specs and certifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.
• Strong analytical, math skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate manufacturing methods for quality compliance.
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Maintain complete and accurate inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect in-process and finished products via visual examinations and dimensional measurements.
• Review POs, operation sheets, blueprints, special process certifications, and other specifications for compliance.
• Perform complex dimensional layout inspections using operation sheets and engineering drawings.
• Apply GD&T principles to evaluate part conformity.
• Complete Inspection Method Sheets and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Verify special process certifications against applicable part specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspections and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
• Identify and document nonconforming materials or components and communicate findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to address inspection issues and maintain product quality.
