Job summary

Hytek Finishes Co. in Kent, WA is seeking an Aerospace Chrome Masker for the 1st shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.).

The role involves applying maskants to parts ahead of chrome plating, following customer orders and internal procedures, and working with experienced team members to maintain quality and safety. Responsibilities include preparing parts, cleaning as required, and adhering to FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in applying maskants to parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.
• Follow shop traveler, technique card, and instructions from senior Maskers and Department Leads.
• Prepare parts prior to operations including cleaning; perform pre/post cleaning surface finish requirements.
• Follow Quality Assurance and safety procedures; notify supervisor/QA of any issues.
• Assist in other areas within the Value Stream as assigned.

Job Overview Title: Aerospace Chrome Masker - 1st Shift Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA - onsite Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Schedule Type: 1st Shift Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Full benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) matching, Performance Share incentive compensation (Profit Sharing Plan), 3-weeks paid time off to start, paid community service day, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, long-term care plan options, 10 paid holidays, and onsite health services that includes access to a massage therapist. Position Summary: Employees in this position will apply a variety of maskants to parts in preparation for Chrome plating application. Maskers may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. Maskers perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. * FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing. Follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Maskers, Platers, and Department Leads. General review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors. Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning. Apply maskants to parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards. Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements. Follow Quality Assurance requirements. Follow safety precautions as trained. Assist in other areas within the Value Stream as assigned. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility. Education & Experience: 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus. Ability to see/hear/feel constantly - hearing protection required when working in the area. Work Environment: Hearing protection required in certain areas. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Temperature fluctuations based on outdoor conditions.
