Job summary

Doncasters in Oxford, Alabama, is seeking a Ceramic Core Engineer to serve as the primary technical authority for non-metallic materials and manufacturing processes used to produce precision ceramic cores for aerospace investment castings. This on-site role connects advanced material science with high-volume manufacturing at our Oxford facility.

The engineer will develop a new core manufacturing operation, optimize yields, maintain process control, and address defects to ensure smooth downstream

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on engineering experience in materials processing, injection molding, or investment casting.
• Experience with data analysis and SPC using Minitab or Excel.
• Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for non-metallic materials and manufacturing processes used in aerospace investment castings.
• Develop a green field core manufacturing operation from material development to finishing and strengthening.
• Optimize ceramic core manufacturing yields and ensure fixed process adherence and control.
• Identify and solve structural or dimensional defects to ensure stable downstream wax and casting operations.
• Report to the facility engineering manager/director and collaborate across teams.
