Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a detail-oriented Calibration Engineer to join our Quality Engineering Team in Colorado. You will ensure accuracy and reliability of M&TE used in aerospace manufacturing, developing calibration processes that meet AS9100 and ISO 17025 standards.

Responsibilities include leading calibration programs, supplier management, data analysis, and audits, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining product integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years in calibration, metrology, or quality engineering in aerospace/defense.
  • Strong metrology, GD&T, and measurement uncertainty knowledge.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 17025, and ANSI/NCSL Z540 standards.
  • Experience with asset management software, statistics, and MS Office.
  • ASQ CCT or Six Sigma or similar certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve a calibration program meeting standards and requirements.
  • Schedule and perform calibrations to ensure compliance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain detailed calibration records in line with QMS requirements.
  • Develop procedures for aerospace MTE calibration per AS9100/ISO 17025.
  • Manage suppliers and contracts for rental, purchase, and calibration services.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations into calibration failures and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with sites to evaluate new calibration equipment and best practices.
  • Ensure timely renting or leasing to avoid downtime and control costs.
  • Support internal/external audits with records and expertise.
  • Train technicians and operators on calibration techniques.
