Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Appleton, WI, seeks a skilled cabinetmaker to fabricate aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies from blueprints and specifications. You will work under supervision with a focus on safety, quality and productivity in a team environment.

Responsibilities include installing hardware, applying laminates and veneers, and using power tools. Prior cabinetry experience and ability to read drawings are essential; Lean Six-Sigma exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years experience in cabinetmaking is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies from blueprints, aircraft specifications and design/engineering drawings.
• Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells; install drawer-slides, hinges, latches and other hardware; apply laminates, veneers, and cap strips.
• Use stationary and hand-held power tools to fabricate or disassemble furniture.
• Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use PPE to protect aircraft interior.
• Use material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign-off work.
• Collaborate with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop process improvements leveraging Lean Six-Sigma.
