Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a resilient Buyer II in the United States to support sourcing and purchasing for aerospace programs. You will manage purchase orders end-to-end—from requisition to closeout—while developing foundational competencies in negotiation, supplier management, and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to align procurement with program needs, maintain ERP records, and ensure export-control requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years purchasing/procurement/supply chain experience.
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS or government contracting is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems; Costpoint preferred.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong organization and analytical skills with detail orientation.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Collaborative, cross-functional orientation in teams.

Responsibilities

• Issue and administer purchase orders for materials, parts, tooling, and services within assigned areas.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes (RFQs) from approved suppliers and support price reasonableness checks.
• Support competitive sourcing events under supervision of senior buyers.
• Analyze supplier quotes for price reasonableness and document in procurement policy.
• Expedite open orders and resolve routine discrepancies with suppliers, receiving, and AP.
• Maintain procurement records in ERP systems with accuracy.
• Ensure POs include quality clauses, export controls, and flow-downs.
• Review requisitions for completeness; identify supply risks and pricing issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and PM to align actions with needs.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships; own POs end-to-end.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
