Job summary

ApTask is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician II to support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and integration of electrical and mechanical systems for advanced spaceflight hardware. You will collaborate with Engineering and Production in lab, manufacturing, and vehicle environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with board-level assembly, soldering, harness fabrication, and electrical testing, working in a dynamic aerospace setting while maintaining strict

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace Avionics or a related field.
  • Experience working in a flight, aerospace, or production environment.
  • Experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and basic electronic testing.
  • Experience with cable/harness fabrication, termination, installation, and testing.
  • Experience applying torque to fasteners/components.
  • Experience with polymerics such as staking, potting, encapsulation, or conformal coating.
  • Familiarity with ESD/EPA environments and tool control.
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour, 4x10 schedule with occasional overtime.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen/national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, repair, modify, and test avionics and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Perform board-level assembly, soldering, component replacement, and PCBA repair.
  • Fabricate, terminate, install, repair, and test wire harnesses and cables.
  • Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and checkout.
  • Apply and remove staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coatings.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, fastening, torque application, and hardware installation.
  • Install and work with threaded inserts and other mechanical hardware.
  • Use schematics, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Use electronic test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies.
  • Use mechanical/dimensional measurement tools as required.
  • Inspect and certify completed work according to applicable standards and specifications.
  • Maintain ESD controls, tool accountability, quality, safety, and configuration requirements.
  • Support Engineering with manufacturing improvements and assembly process development.
