Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking an Automation & Controls Technician to build, wire, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain electrical systems supporting spacecraft testing and ground‑support operations. This hands‑on role focuses on electrical wiring, controls hardware, instrumentation, and safety practices, working closely with engineers and specialists.

You will work with UL 508A and NFPA standards, install and configure industrial systems, read schematics, and support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years building, wiring, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial equipment.
• Experience wiring equipment from schematics, including PLCs, industrial I/O, and safety circuits.
• Knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 70, NFPA 79 requirements.
• Proficiency with electrical test tools and basic fabrication tools.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, wire, modify, and maintain electrical test equipment and control panels.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and commission industrial electrical and controls systems.
• Read, interpret, and redline electrical schematics and provide feedback to engineering.
• Support calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated test equipment.
• Support equipment installation, modification, and commissioning at company facilities and test sites.
• Maintain electrical shop tools and inventory.
