Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. is seeking an Autoclave Technician in Broussard, LA. This role operates autoclaves to cure composite and bonded parts per engineering specs, prepares vacuum bag assemblies, and records cure data to ensure traceability and quality.

You will work with production and quality teams to meet schedules while maintaining a safe, clean work area. The position requires a High School diploma or GED and 2+ years in a manufacturing or aerospace setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environment.
• Experience with autoclaves, ovens, composite layup, or bonded structures is preferred.
• Proficient in computer skills for data entry, work instruction access, and cure cycle monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• Technical training or coursework in manufacturing, composites, or mechanics is a plus.
• Forklift and/or other material handling certification is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, shop travelers, basic drawings, and process specifications.
• Ability to use basic measurement tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers, scales) and record data accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required by production needs.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail with good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate autoclaves and related equipment following procedures and safety requirements.
• Load/unload parts, tools, and fixtures into/from the autoclave with proper placement and support.
• Prepare and verify vacuum bag assemblies, thermocouples, and instrumentation per work instructions.
• Monitor autoclave parameters during cure cycles and respond to alarms.
• Record and verify cure data, charts, and logs for quality and traceability.
• Collaborate with production and quality to support schedule adherence and improvements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of autoclave area and tools.
• Issue parts and materials to orders and manage inventory.
• Create 8130-3, 337 or Certificate of Conformance paperwork.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment per safety rules.
• Follow safety, environmental, and hazardous materials procedures with PPE.
• Support training and participate in 5S and continuous improvement.
