Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring skilled Assembly Technicians in Wichita, KS to support aerospace manufacturing. You will assemble precision components, read blueprints, and apply sealants, working with various fasteners and metrology tools to ensure high-quality results.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of assembly experience, sheet metal skills, and attention to detail. ITAR considerations apply; shifts are Mon-Thurs with pay starting at $25/hour and ranges up to $35/hour.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with sheet metal assemblies, drilling, countersinking, riveting, and fastener installation.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions.
• Familiarity with general metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
• Detail-oriented, quality-focused, and self-motivated.
• Solid problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with aircraft fasteners.
• 1+ year of aircraft sealer application experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision components using hand and power tools.
• Install press fit and force fit bushings with accuracy.
• Perform aircraft and spacecraft assembly operations on various parts and systems.
• Conduct bench top assemblies, with or without jigs and fixtures.
• Trim, shim, and remove surface defects to meet quality standards.
• Handle aircraft fasteners such as rivets, pull rivets, and hi-loks.
• Apply aircraft sealants (minimum 1 year experience).
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure accuracy.
• Use general metrology tools to verify tolerances and quality.
