Job summary

Ontic is seeking an Assembler in Chatsworth, CA to build mechanical and electromechanical aerospace products. You will work from engineering drawings to assemble, install, align and test assemblies while maintaining precision and high-quality workmanship.

The role spans from entry to experienced levels, with duties including soldering, cable termination, calibration and functional testing, in collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on mechanical/electromechanical assembly experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics or specs.
• Experience with soldering and wire termination techniques is valuable.
• Practical use of hand tools, torque equipment and measurement devices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Experience or knowledge in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electromechanical products and subassemblies from drawings and specs.
• Install, align, adjust and fit components using hand tools and specialized tooling.
• Perform soldering and wire termination as applicable.
• Support inspection, calibration and functional testing to verify requirements.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams.
• Document quality and production activities accurately and update work instructions.
• Mentor less experienced assemblers and assist with training when needed.
