Job summary

KBR is seeking a War Reserve Materiel Aerospace Ground Equipment Corrosion Control Specialist / Welder for an expatriate assignment at Morón Air Base, Spain. The role combines corrosion control, painting, and fabricating/welding to extend equipment life and ensure mission readiness under the USAFE contract.

Responsibilities include surface prep, coatings, welding, blueprint interpretation, and compliant documentation in ELMS and IMDS, all within a safety-focused, international work environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of corrosion control/industrial painting and welding/metal fabrication experience, preferably on aircraft or ground support equipment.
• Valid driver license and U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience with aircraft/ground support equipment and heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect AGE and MMHE for corrosion, damage, and paint degradation.
• Prepare surfaces (masking, stripping, sanding, blasting) and apply coatings.
• Perform welding and fabrication using TIG, MIG, ARC, and oxyacetylene methods.
• Read blueprints and military orders to manufacture/repair components.
• Document maintenance activities in ELMS and IMDS.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment; ensure shop safety and ventilation.
